What you get
- The drums on their own
- The song without drums, to play along to
- Bass, vocals and everything else as separate files too
How to do it
- 1Upload the song.
- 2Choose Drums.
- 3Confirm your email with a 6-digit code.
- 4Preview each file and download what you need.
Getting the best result
- The drumless version is the one to practise with — you hear the rest of the band and fill in the kit yourself.
- Isolated drums from a finished master are already compressed and EQ'd. If you are sampling them, that character comes along.
- Cymbals are the hardest part to separate cleanly, since they spread across the whole frequency range.
Questions
›Do I get the drums split into kick and snare?
No — the drums come as one kit. Splitting a kit into individual pieces is a different and much harder problem.
›Is this good enough to practise with?
Yes. Drumless versions are one of the cleanest results you can get, because drums are rhythmically distinct and easy for the model to identify.
